Meet Our Director
Laura Young M. ED

Mrs. Young is a self-described lifelong learner. Her passion has always been education and she knew this from a very young age. Mrs. Young has always worked in the educational setting ranging from preschool to private placement for students with behavioral needs.

 

Mrs. Young has been a professional educator for over 15 years in the brick and mortar setting as well as 10 years' experience as a digital educator.  Mrs. Young's passion is in the realm of special education; supporting students reach their goals and helping parents to successfully navigate the process and advocate for their children. 

 

Mrs. Young believes that all children are capable of achieving their dreams and experiencing academic success. Laura founded the Learning Cottage to give families a partner in their child's education through private teaching, advocacy, and Learning Cottage Crates to enhance learning opportunities at home.

•  Bachelors in Elementary Education

• Master's In special education 

• Doctorate Degree Candidate in Special Education Leadership

• 16 years experience in education

• 10 year experience in digital education

• Orton-Gillingham Trained Educator (currently getting my certification) 

•  Lindamood Bell Trained Educator

• SIIPS reading program trained.
